Second-year runner Gabriella Stafford placed first overall in leading the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women’s cross country team to a second-place finish at the 2014 Western International Invitational on Saturday, September 20 at Thames Valley Golf Course in London, Ont.

The Toronto native and psychology major crossed the finish line in 17:43, a full 10 seconds ahead of silver medalist Amanda Truelove (17:53) of the Western Mustangs.

The Blues team finished with 47 points in second place, 10 points behind the host Western Mustangs (37).
