Jonathan Lai struck gold in men’s doubles action at the 2017 Yonex Canadian national college/university championships this past weekend in Quebec City.
Partnered with Jason Ho-Shue, the duo went a perfect 5-0 to claim the top spot on the podium, including a thrilling 2-1 (21-19, 15-21, 21-13) victory in the gold-medal match.
As a team, Toronto fell 4-1 to both the UQAM Citadins and Montreal Carabins, with Lai earning both points for the Blues, winning a men’s singles match vs UQAM and a men’s doubles showdown against Montreal.
