Fourth-year veteran Femi Akinduro competed in all three jumps to help the University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s track and field team to a silver-medal finish at the 2023 U SPORTS championships in Saskatoon this past weekend.

The kinesiology major from Etobicoke, Ont., earned the national silver medal in his signature triple jump event, bettering 1992 Olympian Oral Ogilvie’s 34-year-old U of T record (15.91m) with a jump of 15.98m.

Akinduro also placed fifth in the high jump, clearing 1.99m, as well as fifth in the long jump with a best jump of 7.21m.
