First-year standout Andrew Wilkinson was named the OUA male rookie of the year as the Varsity Blues hosted the 2012 OUA badminton championship this past weekend (March 16-18).
 
The Toronto native teamed up with Fiona McKee to claim the mixed doubles title. The duo went a perfect 3-0 in qualification rounds and went onto win in the semifinals before defeating Western’s Peter Butler and Christina Giuffre 21-10, 21-17 to win the gold medal.  Wilkinson was also named an OUA all-star for his efforts.
