MEN'S SQUASH EARN THEIR SPOT IN GOLD MEDAL MATCH

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's squash team will compete for gold after earning three straight wins throughout the first two days of competition at the 2026 OUA Squash Championships.

The Blues opened the provincial showcase with a tough 6-1 loss versus the Queen's Gael's on Friday. Varsity Blues veteran Will Harris was the lone U of T player to pick up a win in the first contest of the championship for Toronto. Despite the early loss, the Blues bounced right back with a decisive 7-0 sweep of the York Lions in their second round-robin match on Friday.

Shifting to Day 2, U of T was able to keep momentum as they earned another strong 6-1 victory over the Ottawa Gee-Gees. The win propelled the Blues into the OUA semifinal round, setting up a showdown with the Waterloo Warriors to close out Saturday. In the tightest of margins, Toronto was able to claim a 4-3 win over the Warriors to earn their spot in the gold medal match. The Blues were propelled by the middle of their lineup as No. 3 Ahmed Abdelkader, No. 4 Anthony Allum, No. 5 Ekambit Singh, and No. 6 Tegbir Singh Chandhok claimed the vital victories to earn Toronto's four points.

This will mark the Blues first appearance in the championship final since 2023. To close out the provincial showcase, the Blues will face-off against perennial champion Western in the gold medal match on Sunday. Action from White Oaks Resort is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
