The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's rugby team fell 57-5 to the Trent Excalibur on Friday (Oct. 10) night in Peterborough.

With both teams vying for their first win of the season, the Blues and Excalibur showcased physical play early. Despite Toronto finding a try in the opening half courtesy speedster Adele Church, U of T would find themselves trailing 25-5 at the break. As the teams returned to the field, Trent were spurred on by the home field advantage and pulled away to secure the victory.

Toronto will next return to Varsity Stadium for both their home finale and the regular season finale on Friday, Oct. 9 versus the Brock Badgers. Prior to kick-off, U of T will honour their graduating athletes. Kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m., with tickets available at varsityblues.ca/tickets.
