As announced by Water Polo Canada on Tuesday (Apr. 15), University of Toronto Varsity Blues water polo student-athletes Grace Bobyk and Bowen Moravek have been named to the Canadian Junior (U20) national teams.
Bobyk was one of 14 athletes selected for the Canadian Junior Women's national team. A goalie from Ottawa, Bobyk just completed her first season with the Varsity Blues. th consecutive conference championship. Bobyk and the Canadian Junior Women's team will compete at the U20 Women's World Championship scheduled to take place in Salvador, Brazil from August 10-18.
Named an NCWP all-star in his first season with the Varsity Blues, Moravek will look to continue to showcase his talent with the Canadian Junior Men's national team this summer. A 6-foot-5 utility, Moravek made an immediate impact while competing with U of T last fall, helping the Blues to a 9-2 regular season record and 3-0 run at the NCWP championship to claim an eighth straight banner. He has also previously represented Canada, capturing silver at the U19 Pan Am Aquatics Championships in 2024. The humanities student will now be traveling to Zagreb, Croatia with Team Canada for the U20 Men's World Championship taking place from June 14-21.
