AGOSTINELLI AND DALE ADD TWO MORE MEDALS FOR BLUES

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues track and field teams closed out their 2025 U SPORTS championship weekend by earning two more medals, as distance runner Julia Agostinelli won gold in the 1500m and high jumper Emma Dale won bronze.

The nationally ranked No. 7 Blues men's team finished sixth in the overall standings with 31 points, while the No. 9 ranked women's team finished eighth with 33.5 points, both finishing higher than their national ranking heading into the weekend.

WOMEN'S RESULTS:

The highlight of the meet was Agostinelli, a fourth-year distance runner, winning the national championship in the 1500m with a time of 4:23.60, finishing ahead of second place by just 0.34 seconds. This marks Agostinelli's fifth career U SPORTS track and field gold medal and second gold. She was able to redeem her silver medal finish in the 1500m last year as a member of the Guelph Gryphons.

The Blues women continued to have success on the field, as fourth-year high jumper Emma Dale won her second career bronze medal in the event, clearing a height of 1.69m. Dale wrapped up a successful meet for Toronto high jumpers, winning the third medal among the men's and women's teams.

MEN'S RESULTS:

On the men's side, the 4x400m relay team of Brandon Tang, Caiden Schultz, Chris de Martin, and Felimon Henok placed fifth in the country with a 3:19.93 time. The group missed the podium by just over a second.

Tobi Oyedele finished tenth in the triple jump after recording a distance of 13.74m.
