WOMEN'S RUGBY CLOSE SEASON OUT AT LAURIER

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's rugby team fell 49-7 in their regular season finale versus the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks on Saturday (Oct. 4) in Waterloo.

With a limited roster for the road contest, Toronto fought hard to limit the Golden Hawks as much as they could. Fourth-year veteran Kallea Bes notched the lone try for the Blues on the day, while fellow fourth-year vet Sydney Heighington nailed the convert to finish the season with a team-high 39 points.

U of T conclude the season with a 1-5 record, missing out on the OUA postseason after three consecutive quarter-final appearances over the last three seasons. The Blues will look to retool and revamp for next fall when they will have an opportunity to begin a new postseason streak.
