The University of Toronto Varsity Blues cross country teams head to Kingston this Saturday (Oct. 25) for the 2025 OUA Cross Country Championships, hosted by Queen's University at the CFP Kingston Fort Henry Cross Country Trail.
Last fall the U of T women placed sixth, while the men were eighth. The top individual result for the women saw Julia Agostinelli cross the line eighth, posting a time of 29:07.7. As for the men, Adam Pralat posted the top time of 26:29.2 to finish in 41
st. Both the Blues women's and men's teams will be looking to move up the standings this weekend.
Agostinelli returns for another shot at a podium. In addition to her Top 10 result last season, the fifth-year physical therapy student previously claimed provincial gold in the 8km race in 2023. This fall she won the Don Mills Open, captured silver at the Marauder Bayfront Open and placed fourth at the Western Invitational. Additionally, fourth-year veteran Sarah White has delivered one of the best seasons of her Varsity Blues career. The biomedical engineering major has been the second Blue across the line just behind Agostinelli at all three invitational races this fall, including a bronze medal result at the Don Mills Open.
For the men, fourth-year law student Nima Ashtari has excelled on the trail throughout the 2025 campaign, posting the top time for the Blues across the pre-championship races. This included finishing fourth at the Don Mills Open and 18
th at the Western Invitational. The second-year duo of Andrej Prekajki and Oliver Tagalog have also showcased strong runs throughout the fall campaign.
The women's 8km race is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., while the men's 8km race has a start time of 12 p.m.
