The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's squash team played two games on Saturday (Jan. 18) this past weekend in Kingston, Ont.
The Blues faced off against the Guelph Gryphons and McGill Martlets, winning one contest and losing the other.
Toronto took down Guelph handily on Saturday morning by a score of 7-0, picking up five sweeps and two more wins. No. 5 slotted Ainsley Rawlins held her opponent to three points or fewer in all three wins of her sweep, with scores of 11-2, 11-3, and 11-0.
The Blues narrowly fell 4-3 to McGill later in the day. Two of their three wins came by via sweeps, as Rawlins and Kashaliyah Naidoo shut down their Martlet opponents, limiting them to four and five points or fewer in each game, respectively.
After splitting their two contests, the Blues now hold a 6-2 record on the season.
U of T is back on the court on Friday, Jan. 24, where they will travel to New York, N.Y. to take on Columbia University in their final appearance before the OUA Championships on Feb. 7-9.
