The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's water polo team competed in the Salem Invitational, September 13-15, in Salem, West Virginia.

Despite an 0-4 record, the Blues had some competitive games against top NCAA schools.

Toronto opened the weekend with an 18-10 loss to the host Salem Tigers. Cameron Hexter, Omer Sayli, Rhys Carr each tallied two goals for the Blues, with Andrew Reed and James Glaser adding singles in the loss.

The Blues went onto drop a thrilling overtime decision, 18-17, to the Long Island University Sharks. Sayli led the Blues with five goals, while Hexter, Glaser and Carr each had hattricks. Daniel Gonzalez Delgado and Reed scored one each.

U of T went onto fall by the narrowest of margins, 10-9 to the Mercyhurst Lakers on Saturday afternoon. Sayli again topped the Blues, this time with four goals. Glaser added two, while Gonzalez Delgado, Hexter and Camilo Cortes each scored once.

Toronto ended the weekend with a 16-7 loss to the Gannon Golden Knights. Sayli, Folconer and Cortes each scored two goals, with Aidan Principe and Reed adding one apiece in the loss.

The Blues are back in action in two weeks (Sept 27-29) when they host the U of T Fall Classic at Varsity Pool.
