The Varsity Blues badminton team opened the 2024 OUA championship going 2-1 on Thursday, March 7 at the Melati Mas Sports Complex in Pickering, Ont. 
 
Toronto started the day with a dominant 10-0 victory against their Toronto rivals, the TMU Bold. The blue and white followed it up with another 10-0 victory against the University of Ottawa.
 
The Blues wrapped up the day with their first loss of the championship against the Waterloo Warriors falling 6-4. 

Pool play continues on Friday morning when they face off against the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks at 12 p.m. at the Melati Mas Sports Complex.
