BLUES HOST HAL BROWN LAST CHANCE MEET

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues track and field team concluded their invitational schedule hosting the annual Hal Brown Memorial Last Chance Meet on Friday, Feb. 16 inside the Bruce Kidd Field House.

MEN'S RESULTS:

With a time of 1:21.25, third-year middle distance runner Moses Aidoo earned first place in the men's 600m.

Claiming another first place finish for the Blues, first-year pole vaulter Jonathan Eby secured the top spot with a height of 4.00m.

Third-year jumper Aiden Grout took to the track and earned first in the men's 60m hurdles, finishing in a time of 8.48.

Second-year sprinter Phikelela Moyo achieved third in the men's 60m dash with a time of 7.05.

WOMEN'S RESULTS:

Competing in the throws, Voke Ewhrudjakpor and Phoebe Price-Roberts earned back-to-back podiums. Beginning with Ewhrudjakpor, the third-year Blues veteran claimed first in the women's shot put (12.57) before also placing second in the weight throw (14.45). As for Price-Roberts, the weight throw specialist finished first with a toss of 17.29m, while also placing third in the shot put (10.96m).

Shifting to the jumps, fifth-year jumper Jasmine Lew secured first in the women's long jump with a leap of 5.97m. Third-year jumper Emma Dale achieved a height of 1.65m to secure second place in the women's high jump.

On the track, second-year sprinter Emily Wilke earned first in the women's 300m with a time of 42.70, while second-year middle distance and distance runner Katherine Vuckovic secured third in the women's 600m with a time of 1:38.14. The Blues would also add second and third place finishes in the 4x200m relay.

The Blues also saw third-year runner Brooklyn McCormick competing at the Raven Last Chance Meet in Ottawa this weekend, where she delivered a second place result in the women's 600m with a time of 1:33.91.


Up next, U of T will compete in the 2024 OUA Track and Field Championships in Windsor, Ont., next weekend (Feb. 23-24).
