The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's squash team earned a fifth place finish at the 2024 OUA Women's Squash Championship, hosted by Western University at the White Oaks Resort in Niagara-On-The-Lake, Ont.
The three-day provincial showcase concluded on Sunday (Feb. 11) morning with the Blues defeating the Guelph Gryphons 7-0 in the consolation final. The victory secured a fifth place finish for U of T who finished the weekend with a 3-2 record overall.
In the Sunday morning showdown with the Gryphons, Toronto swept each of the seven matches by 3-0 margins. U of T received especially impressive performances from a quartet of competitors in Aayah Shalaby, Sunny Choi, Madeleine Khan, and Carolina Suaid with each of the four Blues limiting their opponents to five or less points scored in each set.
Blues No. 1 player Keira Rawlins was honoured as a 2024 OUA women's all-star following an incredible weekend overall.
