BLUES RETURN TO WINDSOR FOR ANNUAL TEAM CHALLENGE

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues track and field team competed in the Windsor Team Challenge this weekend (Feb. 9-10).

MEN'S RESULTS:

The No. 8 nationally ranked Varsity Blues men's track and field team were led by veteran sprinter David Adeleye at the annual event in Windsor. Adeleye earned first in the men's 60m hurdle with a time of 7.90.

Fellow sprinter Brandon Tang claimed third in the men's 60m, setting a new personal best with a time of 6.85.

Competing in the men's heptathlon events, Aiden Grout rounded out the Blues top performers with numerous podium finishes. The Blues veteran earned first in the heptathlon long jump (6.78), high jump (1.90), and 60m hurdles (8.60). He also secured second in the pole vault (3.60) and 60m dash (7.23).

WOMEN'S RESULT:

Delivering the top result for the No. 6 nationally ranked women's track and field team, Sarah Luedke secured first in the 3000m with a time of 10:03.25.

Veteran sprinter Luiza Lena claimed third in the women's pentathlon 60m dash with a time of 9.40.

Rounding out the podium finishes, the Blues achieved second in the 4x400m relay with the crew of Jade Lenton, Sophie Myles, Megan Torrance, and Emily Wilke posting a second place time of 4:01.23.


Toronto will conclude their invitational schedule at two events next weekend, hosting the Hal Brown Last Chance Meet at the Athletic Centre (Feb. 16-17), while sending some to the Guelph Last Chance Meet in Friday, Feb. 16.
