TRACK AND FIELD COMPETE IN BOSTON

The Varsity Blues men's and women's track and field team made their way down to Boston, Massachusetts this weekend (Jan. 26-27) to compete in the John Thomas Terrier Classic and Riverhawk Invitational. 
 
Men's Results
 
Third-year kinesiology major David Adeleye picked up two podium finishes this weekend. The Chatham, England native finished in second place in the 60m hurdles at both the John Thomas Terrier Classic (8.13) and Riverhawk Invitational (7.95). 
 
Aiden Grout grabbed another podium for the Blues at the John Thomas Terrier Classic when he secured first place in the high jump at 2.05m. Mason McGregor finished in sixth place in the same event with a 1.90m.
 
In the triple jump, Linden Liles-McCurdy finished seventh with a distance of 14.06m, while Brandon Tang recorded a ninth-place finish in the 60m dash with a 6.97. 
 
At the Riverhawk Invitational, Nick Trieu secured a seventh-place finish in the 1000m run, earning a new personal best with a time of 2:28.37.
 
Women's Results
 
Third-year high jumper Emma Dale grabbed the Blues third podium spot of the weekend, finishing third in the high jump with a 1.70m at the John Thomas Terrier Classic. The Toronto, Ont. native also finished seventh in the high jump (1.58m) at the Riverhawk Invitational. 
 
In the long jump event, Jasmine Lew came in fourth place with a distance of 5.61m. Just behind her was fellow Blues Kristen Schulz (5.26m) and Jada Roach (5.25m), who recorded seventh and eighth place finishes, respectively.
 
At the Riverhawk Invitational, Lew secured a fourth-place finish in the long jump (5.85m), while Schulz claimed sixth place in the triple jump (11.76m).
 
The team of Maya Ryan, Brooklyn McCormick, Sophie Myles and Julia Boutin finished fourth in the 1600m relay, finishing in 3:55.32. 
 
Securing the Blues final podium of the weekend was Voke Ewhrudjakpor who finished in third in the shot put category (12.21m). The Winnipeg, Man. Native also grabbed an eight-place finish in the weight throw open event, setting a new personal best of 15.10m. Phoebe Prince Roberts finished in seventh in the weight throw invitational with a throw of 16.76.
 
The Blues now look ahead to February 2 and 3, where they will compete at the Robert J. Kane Invitational at Cornell University and at the York Open.
