Members of the University of Toronto Varsity Blues badminton team competed at the 2023 YONEX Canadian university and college badminton championships, March 18-19, at Ontario Tech University.
 
Leading the way was Yunzhi Chen, who won the men's doubles gold medal with partner Thieun Quan Nicolas Nguyen of the Université de Montreal. Chen defeated fellow varsity Blue Colin Jia, and his partner Ivan Li (TMU Bold), in the finals, 23-21, 21-19. Chen also reached the quarter-finals in the men's singles bracket.
 
Jia, along with partner Sharon Au of the York Lions, claimed the mixed doubles silver medal. Leading Toronto's women were Rebecca Lee and Jocelyne Jaw, who reached the quarter-finals in the women's doubles event. Similarly, U of T's Minh Pham and Michael Farrell reached the men's doubles quarter-finals.
