MEN 2ND, WOMEN 5TH AT U SPORTS TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues track and field teams earned four medals on the third and final day of their 2023 U SPORTS championships (Mar. 11) hosted by the University of Saskatchewan.
 
TEAM STANDINGS: The Blues men take home the team silver medal with 55.5 points, while the women finish fifth with 43 points.

WOMEN'S RESULTS: 

Leading the Blues was veteran triple jumper Kristen Schulz. The North Vancouver, B.C., native earned silver in the triple jump with a distance of 12.33m, while teammate Jada Roach finished in seventh place with a distance of 11.56m.
 
In high jump, second-year standout Emma Dale secured bronze with a height of 1.70m.
 
MEN'S RESULTS: 


With a distance of 15.98m, Blues veteran triple jumper Femi Akinduro claimed silver. With this result, Akinduro bested his 2022 gold-medal distance of 15.47m.
 
In the relays, the team of Emmett Bravakis, Jake Leung, Adam Exley and Cameron Reyez placed sixth in the 4x200m with a time of 1:29.79. In the 4x400m a team of Bravakis, Caiden Schultz, Nick Trieu and Moses Aidoo placed seventh with a time of 3:20.72.
 
Fifth-year thrower Jarod Manuel competed in the shot put, placing 11th with a distance of 14.88m.
