The University of Toronto men's and women's squash teams are set to compete for provincial glory at the 2023 OUA championships, February 9-11, in Kingston, Ont.

MEN'S PREVIEW: Toronto's men will look to reach the podium once again after a silver-medal finish last season. The Blues boast two former OUA all-stars in their No. 1 and 2 positions.

Ali Shalaby returns for his second season with the Blues and heads into the championships in the No. 1 spot. The 2021-22 OUA all-star held a perfect record through last year's championship, including winning his match against the eventual champion Western Mustangs.

Alexi Gosset is Toronto's No. 2 player. The 2019-20 OUA all-star and former Harvard Crimson helped the Blues to a bronze-medal finish that season and was also a member of the 2022 silver-medalist squad. He'll be looking to round out his medal tally with a gold-medal finish this weekend.

Will Harris enters his second OUA championships in the No. 3 spot, while rookie Regan Tan will be playing in Toronto's No. 4 position. Johnathan Fan, veteran Joshua Wolpert and Usman Khan round out the Blues roster this weekend.

WOMEN'S PREVIEW: The Blues women's squad enters the championships in search of their first podium finish since 2018-19 after two consecutive fourth-place finishes.

They will look to fourth-year veteran and Western Mustangs transfer Amy Commisso to lead the charge. Commisso is a three-time OUA all-star and is no stranger to the OUA podium, helping the Mustangs to one silver and two bronze-medal finishes during her time at Western.

Industrial engineering major Aayah Shalaby returns and will be the Blues No. 2 player this weekend. Shalaby went 2-2 at last year's championship.

Rookie Deena Shah and sophomore Rebecca Sinner will play in their first OUA championships in the No. 3 and 4 spots, respectively,

Madeleine Khan, Sunny Choi and Janhavi Agarwal round out the Blues roster this weekend.
