The University of Toronto Varsity Blues track and field teams earned seven more podium finishes as the 2023 OUA championships wrapped up on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 25) at the University of Windsor
TEAM STANDINGS: The Blues men and women finished third overall in the team standings. Toronto's men wrapped up the championships with 102 points, behind the Guelph Gryphons (165) and Western Mustangs (105). The U of T women placed third with 72 points, behind Guelph (225) and Western (156).
MEN'S RESULTS: Femi Akinduro won his fourth consecutive men's triple jump crown. The kinesiology major from Etobicoke, Ont., broke his own OUA record with a best jump of 15.60m. Eric Che, who won the long jump yesterday, placed fifth (14.24m), while Linden Liles-McCurdy was eighth (13.92m).
Sophomore standout Aiden Grout successfully defended his men's high jump title, clearing 2.20m to win the event. Akinduro placed fourth, clearing 2.05m.
Emmett Bravakis, Caiden Schultz, Nick Trieu and Moses Aidoo earned the 4x400 silver medal, clocking a time of 3:19.05.
Bravakis, Jake Leung, Adam Exley and Cameron Reyes finished fourth in the men's 4x200 relay in 1:31.17.
Veteran thrower Jarod Mauel finished just off the podium in the men's shot put with a best throw of 15.07m on the day.
Trieu finished sixth in the men's 600m in 1:21.97, while Aidoo was 14th in 1:23.99.
Cam Bruce finished seventh in the men's pole vault, clearing 4.01m, while also placing 13th in the men's high jump (1.81m).
Jack Djondric-Powell placed 10th in the men's 1500m in 3:59.70, while Anton Mlynczyk was 12th in 3:59.75.
WOMEN'S RESULTS: Second-year visual studies major Emma Dale won her first OUA high jump title, clearing 1.71m en route to the gold-medal finish. Brynn Miller placed 10th, clearing 1.47m.
Kristen Schulz claimed the women's triple jump silver medal with a best jump of 12.26m. Jada Roach finished fourth with a best jump of 11.89m.
Third-year sprinter Onome Gbinije earned the women's 60m silver medal for the second straight season. The commerce major from Mississauga clocked a time of 7.38 seconds. Veteran Jasmine Lew, who won the women's long jump yesterday, claimed the bronze medal in 7.39 seconds. Kei-Shawonna Mayenge was 12th in 7.89 seconds.
Jade Lenton placed fifth in the women's 600m in 1:33.78, while Julia Berube Boutin was 10th in 1:36.24.
Voke Ewhrudjakpor opened the day with a sixth-place finish in the women's weight throw, with a best thow of 13.74m.

Emily Wilke, Paulina Procyk, Berube Boutin and Megan Torrance finished sixth in the 4x400 relay in 4:00.85, while Procyk, Luiza Lena, Lenton and Wilke finished ninth in the 4x20 relay in 1:54.58.
