The University of Toronto Varsity Blues badminton finished third overall as the 2023 OUA championship wrapped up on Sunday afternoon (Feb. 19) at Toronto Metropolitan University.

U of T opened Day 3 with a 6-1 semifinal loss to the eventual champion York Lions to set up the bronze-medal match with the Western Mustangs.

The Mustangs raced out to a 5-1 advantage but the Varsity Blues stormed back to take the final four ties to earn a 5-5 split. The Blues earned the edge, taking 11 games to Western's 10, as Toronto stayed on the podium for the seventh consecutive season, earning the bronze medal.

Michael Farrell, Jonathan Lai and Joycelyne Jaw all earned OUA all-star honours for the Blues.
