BADMINTON BOASTS OUA BRONZE

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues badminton finished third overall as the 2023 OUA championship wrapped up on Sunday afternoon (Feb. 19) at Toronto Metropolitan University.

U of T opened Day 3 with a 6-1 semifinal loss to the eventual champion York Lions to set up the bronze-medal match with the Western Mustangs.

The Mustangs raced out to a 5-1 advantage but the Varsity Blues stormed back to take the final four ties to earn a 5-5 split. The Blues earned the edge, taking 11 games to Western's 10, as Toronto stayed on the podium for the seventh consecutive season, earning the bronze medal.
