BLUES NOTCH TOP PERFORMANCES AT FOUR MEETS THIS WEEKEND

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues track and field teams competed in Arkansas, Boston, Ohio and Windsor this weekend, February 10-11.

University of Arkansas Tyson Invitational (Results)

Jasmine Lew finished third overall in the women's long jump with a best jump of 5.98m, while Aiden Grout cleared 2.15m to place fifth in the men's high jump.

Emma Dale cleared 1.74m to finish ninth in the women's high jump, while Kristen Schulz placed 10th in the women's triple jump (12.02m). Jada Roach was 16th with a jump of 11.85m.

Ryan Denman jumped 6.82m to finish 16th in the men's long jump.

Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational (Results)

On Friday night, Christina Esposito ran a personal best 2:50.72 to place 16th out of a field of 99 in the women's 1000m. Julia Boutin was 41st in 2:57.20.

Jack Djondric-Powell finished 278th in a field of 432 in the men's mile in 4:16.31, while Anton Mlyncyzk was not far behind in 284th in 4:16.64.

Brandon Raftis (8:33.90) and Ben Shore (8:49.79) also competed in the men's 3000m.

Emmett Bravakis won the men's 300m in 33.99 seconds, while Caiden Schultz was third in 34.85 seconds.
 
The Blues finished 1-2-3-5 in the men's 600m. Moses Aidoo won the event in 1:18.65, while Nick Trieu was second in 1:20.73. Mathias Gelber placed third in 1:20.77, while Shan Dhanoa was fifth in 1:21.88.
 
Bravakis, Schultz, Trieu and Aidoo went onto win the 4x400 relay in 3:17.26.
 
Adam Pralat also placed 11th in the men's 3000m in 8:48.71.
 
Jade Lenton (1:34.96)  and Katherine Vuckovic (1:37.10) placed 1-2 in the women's 600m, while Maya Ryan and Emily Wilke placed 3-4 in the women's 300m in 41.30 and 41.38 seconds, respectively. Megan Torrance also placed sixth in 42.23.
 
EJ Boston finished fifth in the women's 3000m in 10:13.97, with Sophie Levasseur in seventh in 10:15.27.
 
Wilke, Lenton, Torrance and Ryan ended the meet with a victory in the 4x400 relay in 3:55.81.
 
Windsor Team Challenge (Results)

David Adeleye won the men's 60m hurdles, crossing the finish line in 7.95 seconds. Adam Exley was fourth in 8.25 seconds.

Voke Ewhrudjakpor took the top spot in the women's shot put, with a best throw of 12.90m on the day.

Jarod Manuel finished second in the men's weight throw with a best throw of 16.18m, while Matt Loenhart was seventh (13.98). Manuel also placed ninth in the men's shot put (12.84m).

Jake Leung, Adam Exley, Cameron Reyes and David Adeleye placed fourth in the men's 4x200 relay in 1:32.85.

Jake Leung (6.97) and PK Moyo (6.97) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the men's 60m dash. David Adeleye was ninth in 7.01 seconds.

Paulina Procyk, Luiza Lena, Ivy Atem and Zahnee Grant-Bingling placed fourth in the women's 4x200 relay in 1:45.71. Lena also placed fifth in the women's 60m hurdles in 8.86 seconds.

Chris Stamadianos finished fifth in the men's 1000m in 2:32.25, while Sarah White was fifth in the women's 3000m in 10:35.84. White also placed eighth in the 1500m in 4:57.05, while Jasmina Brar was 10th in the women's 1000m in 3:11.77.

Zoe Petkovic and Bryn Walsh tied for ninth in the women's pole vault, clearing 3.45m.

UP NEXT: The Blues have a pair of Last Chance meets next weekend (Feb. 17-18). Toronto hosts the Hal Brown Last Chance meet on Friday, February 17, while the Blues will also travel to Guelph for the Gryphons Last Chance Meet on Saturday, February 18.
