BLUES SHINE AT SHARON ANDERSON MEMORIAL MEET

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues track and field team kicked off the New Year by hosting their annual Sharon Anderson memorial meet on Saturday, January 7 at the Athletic Centre Field House.
 
MEN'S RESULTS:
Second-year kinesiology major Nick Trieu won the men's 1000m in a time of 2:33.40. Moses Aidoo was fourth in 2:38.81. Sophomore sprinter Caiden Shultz won the men's 300m in 35.88 seconds.
 
David Adeleye (8.00) and Adam Exley (8.34) finished 1-2 in the men's 60m hurdles, while veteran Emmett Bravakis was second in the men's 600m in 1:22.83.
 
Jack Djondric-Powell was second in the men's 1500m in 4:01.75, while Anton Mlynczk (4:03.66) was fourth and Adam Pralat (4:05.40) was fifth.
 
Mason McGregor was third in the men's long jump (6.23m) and Eric Che was fifth in the men's 60m dash in 6.96 seconds.
 
WOMEN'S RESULTS: Jasmine Lew led the way, winning the women's long jump (5.77m), while also placing fourth in the women's 60m dash in 7.75 seconds. Jada Roach was fourth in the long jump (5.38m).
 
Julia Berube Boutin placed second in the women's 1000m, clocking a time of 3:01.31, while Onome Gbinje was second in the women's 60m dash in 7.53 seconds.
 
Paulina Procyk placed third in the women's 60m hurdles in 9.07, with Jade Lenton also placing third in the women's 300m in 41.56 seconds.
 
EJ Boston (10:35.08) and Sophie Levasseur (10:39.92) finished second and third, respectively, in the women's 3000m.
 
UP NEXT: The Blues head to Windsor, Ont. For the Can Am Classic next weekend (Jan. 13-14).
