KOOP SCORES TWO AS FIELD HOCKEY PAINTS TORONTO BLUE

The No. 2 University of Toronto Varsity Blues field hockey team bested the No. 3 York Lions by a score of 3-0 at Toronto's Back Campus Fields on Wednesday, September 28.

With the win, the Blues sit second in the OUA East division with a record of 2-0-1. The Blues hold two games in hand over the first-place York Lions (3-1-1).

HOW IT HAPPENED: Deadlocked through 35-minutes of play, Blues third-year forward Sam McCrory opened the scoring off a penalty stroke.

Doubling the Blues lead was second-year forward Molly Koop, converting the penalty corner in the 13th-minute of the third quarter. The St. Catharines, Ont. native recorded her second goal of the night just three minutes later in open play.

Third-year goalie Deepi Gill earned the win in net for the Blues.

UP NEXT: The Blues take on the McGill Marlets this Saturday, October 1 at 4 P.M.
