Going for a third consecutive victory, the Varsity Blues were under the lights Friday night as they played host to the Guelph Gryphons at Varsity Stadium.

However, despite their best efforts, the Blues were unable to hold off the defending OUA champions, falling to the visiting Gryphons 63-0.

Opening the scoring in the third minute with a try, the Gryphons would add on three more before the end of the half to take a 22-0 lead.

Coming out of the break, Guelph was able to keep the pressure applied en route to their victory.

With the loss, the Blues now drop to 2-2 on the season but will look to move back above .500 when they head to St. Catharines on October 1^st and take on the Brock Badgers.
