TETRAULT LEADS BLUES OVER EXCALIBUR

The Varsity Blues women's rugby team secured their second win of the season, defeating the Trent Excalibur 41-0 on Friday, September 16 at Varsity Stadium. 

The Blues hold a 2-1 record heading into their fourth game of the 2022 season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: Third-year centre Ella Tetrault's try opened the scoring for the Blues in the 12th minute. The Montreal native would score on her conversion. Building off the Blues momentum, first-year Sydney Heighington recorded her first career try just three minutes later. Second-year wing Andrea Girard added to the Blues lead in the 36th minute, before Blues veteran Kashish Arya capped off the Blues first half scoring efforts with a try in the 44th minute. Tetrault converted on the occasion.

The Blues dominance continued through the second half. Tetrault opened the scoring with a 59th minute try. Third-year prop Liane Catibog recorded her first try of the season in the 71st minute. Fifth-year prop Demi Swann's penalty try in the 78th minute would complete the Blues scoring.

UP NEXT: The Blues take on the Guelph Gryphons on Friday, September 23 at Varsity Stadium. The game is set to begin at 7 P.M.
