BLUES TAKE DOWN GOLDEN HAWKS

The Varsity Blues women's rugby team got their first win of the season, defeating the Wilfred Laurier University Golden Hawks 64-0 on Saturday, September 10 in Waterloo. 

The Blues start their 2022 season with a 1-1 record. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: Demi Swann opened the scoring for the Blues in the 13th minute with a try. Ella Tetrault would score on her conversion. Swann would score again seven minutes later to extend the Blues lead to 12-0. 10 minutes later Emma Yang scored a try, with another Tetrault conversion. Tetrault finished off the scoring for the Blues in the first half with a try with six minutes to go. The Blues lead 24-0 at the half. 

The Blues came out flying in the second half with a Kashish Arya try in the 42nd minute. Arya would score two more tries in the second half ('58, '75). Swan scored another try four minutes later. Tetrault scored a try and converted in the 67th minute. Swann would finish the scoring for the Blues in second half with a try in the final minute. Tetrault finished the game with five conversions. 

UP NEXT: The Blues take on the Trent Excalibur on Friday, September 16 at Varsity Stadium.
