Representing her home country of Egypt, former Varsity Blues swimmer Samiha Mohsen put forth a six-gold medal performance at the 2022 Arab Swimming Championships held in Bir El Djir, Oran, Algeria from July 20-24.
Competing in the fifth edition of the Arab Swimming Championships, Mohsen reached the top of the podium in the 50, 100 and 200 backstroke, along with the 4x100 freestyle, medley and mixed medley relays.
After transferring from the University of Calgary, Mohsen claimed a combine seven medals at the 2022 OUA and U SPORTS Championships and helped guide the Varsity Blues women's swim team to a
provincial and national banner.
Beginning in 2012 the Arab Swimming Championships are a biennially event that started with nine countries and 85 athletes. The most recent edition featured 12 different countries and over 200 athletes.
Mohsen and her Egyptian teammates finished first in the overall standings.
