The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's squash team came in fourth place at the 2022 OUA championship this past weekend (Mar. 11-13) in St. Catherines, Ont.
Toronto went 1-1 in pool play, defeating Brock 7-0 before falling in a 7-0 match to the eventual champion Queen's Gaels.
Their 1-1 record set up a semifinal matchup with the Waterloo Warriors. The Blues put up a great fight against the Warriors, losing 4-3. Aayah Shalaby, Christine Yaromich and Janhavi Agarwal would score points for Toronto.
In the bronze medal match, the Western Mustangs took down the Blues 5-2. Jenna Shervan and Thandi Myers would win their individual matches in the final.
U of T's No. 1 player and captain Rhea Drar would be named an OUA all-star for the third time.
