BLUES FINISH SEASON IN LONDON

On the road in London, Ont. for the OUA Quarterfinal, the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's rugby fell 18-10 to the Western Mustangs.

The Blues sat fifth place in the OUA and finished the regular season with a record of 3-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
A strong defensive performance from both teams saw things scoreless well into the first half. Western's Jenna Lawrence opened the scoring for the Mustangs in the 25th minute of play, off a penalty goal. However, the Blues offence would rally back scoring just five minutes later to give Toronto a 5-3 lead. As extra time rolled around, Western's Taylor Hagen scored to pull the Mustangs ahead 8-5.

The Mustang's Mikaela Hough opened the second half scoring to extend Western's lead to eight. The Blues once again rallied, scoring with twenty minutes remaining to pull within three points. Despite the Blues efforts, the Mustangs saw out the remainder of the match adding a try to defeat the Blues 18-10.
