Box Score The Varsity Blues men's soccer team downed the Laurentian Voyageurs 1-0 on Saturday, October 15 at James Jerome Turf in Sudbury, Ont.
With the loss, the Blues now hold a 5-3-3 record with 18 points. They sit fifth in the OUA East division.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Despite a strong offensive effort from the Blues, the first half was left scoreless. Within the first 45 minutes of play, the Blues recorded five shots on the Voyageurs. The attack was predominately led by Kingsley Belele. The Toronto, Ont. native recorded a game-high three shots in the opening half, the Voyageurs as a whole combined for two.
The second half saw the Blues offensive dominance continue. The effort was cumulated by second-year Camilo Siabato solo effort in the 68
th minute to secure the win for the Blues.
Fifth-year goalkeeper Ben Grondin recorded two saves in the win.
UP NEXT: The Varsity Blues return to action Sunday, October 16th when they faceoff against The Nippissing Lakers in North Bay for their game of the regular season. Kick off is scheduled for 2:15 p.m.
