The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's soccer team concluded the regular season with a 0-0 draw versus the Queen's Gaels on Friday (Oct. 16) night in Kingston.
The Blues have finished the season with a 5-3-4 (W-L-T) record and are currently in fourth-place in the OUA East standings with a cluster of teams scheduled to play throughout the weekend with the Blue and White having clinched a postseason berth.
As the Old Four rivals felt each other out, second-year goalkeeper Shane Perera made the game's first save in the 29
th minute, turning aside Cameron Cino's shot. Perera would later turn aside Josh Crete's chance as the game remained deadlocked at zero's through 45 minutes of play. Toronto would press in the second half but were unable to get one past Gaels goalkeeper Daniel Clarke, at the other end a last-ditch effort from Jacob Spirrirri went wide as the final whistle sounded with the score remaining the same as the game began.
Now, U of T turns their attention to the postseason, with their spot clinched Toronto awaits the outcome of multiple games this weekend. The postseason is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Oct. 21 and all Varsity Blues playoff games will be streamed live on
