COMEBACK FALLS JUST SHORT FOR BLUES IN ST. CATHARINES

On the road in St. Catharines, Ont., the University of Toronto Varsity Blues suffered a tight 14-10 loss to the Brock Badgers.

HOW IT HAPPENED: In what was a defensive battle for 80 minutes, the Badgers were first able to get on to the scoreboard with a with a penalty kick, before adding to their lead with a try in 33rd minute.

Down 8-0 at the half, the Blues managed to work their way back into the contest. Battling along the Brock goal line, the Blues were awarded a penalty try to pull within one of the home side. Toronto then took the lead in the 75th minute with a penalty kick from Ella Tetrault, putting Toronto up 10-8.

The Badgers would respond in the dying minutes with a pair of penalty kicks to regain the lead and ultimately defeat the Blues.

UP NEXT: The Blues will wrap up their OUA regular season in Waterloo, Ont., against the Warriors on October 8.
