WOMEN'S TEAM WINS DON MILLS OPEN; MEN PLACE SECOND

The Varsity Blues made their presence felt at the Don Mills Open hosted by the Waterloo Warriors at Columbia Lake.

With well-rounded performances from both teams, the women placed first overall, with the men finishing in second.

Of all five scorers for the women's team, they all placed within the top 10. Christina Esposito led the way for Toronto with a third-place finish. Sophie Levasseur finished in fifth. Coming in 7th, 8th and 9th respectively, were EJ Boston, Sarah Luedke and Audrey Roy Beausoleil.

Not far off the pace of their women counterparts, the men's team had their five scores all place within the top 15, with four of the five finishing in the top 15. First to cross the finish line for the Blues was Brandon Raftis in fourth. Then, all finishing the race within 14-seconds of each other were Adam Pralat (7th), Nima Ashtari (8th) and Anton Mlynczyk (9th). Rounding out the scoring for the Blues was Jack Djondric-Powell, who placed 15th.

Also running for the Blues on the women's side was Sarah White (15th), Katherine Vuckovic (19th), Madeline Larson (20th) and Joud Dabous (22nd). The men's team also featured Paul Nunez (20th), Shan Dhanoa (32nd) and Nathaniel Abell (35th).

The Blues will continue their season on October 14 when they head to Hamilton, Ont., for the Bay Front Open.
