The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's water polo team will head to Ottawa on November 4 to take on the Carleton Ravens in the OUA finals. After an extremely successful season, in which the Blues won every one of their games, they will now look to put the finishing touches on another perfect season.
Going back to 2017, the Blues have put together three straight undefeated seasons heading into 2021. Having won last season's OUA championship, the Blues surpassed the U of T record recording their fourth consecutive title. That means with a win today, the team, under head coach Tuna Tali's supervision, will once again set a new school record.
Reaching the final, little stood in the Blues path. Scoring 45 goals while only conceding five during the regular season, Toronto proved too much for their opponents. The team's regional qualifier games were more of the same, with the Blues defeating McMaster 17-4 before downing Western 28-1.
In preparation for the 2021 OUA final though, the Blues know they will have to keep their composure and execute their game plan to perfection should they want to once again be crowned OUA champions.
