BLUES CLINCH PLAYOFF BERTH DESPITE LOSS AT GUELPH

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues football team dropped a 48-0 decision to the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday, October 23 at Alumni Stadium in Guelph, Ont.
 
Despite the loss, the Blues (2-3) secure their first post-season berth since 1995 following a York Lions (0-5) loss to the McMaster Marauders today.
 
 
TORONTO STATS: OUA defensive player of the week James Greig had another big game, leading all players with eight tackles, while adding one tackle for loss and one break up.
 
Fellow veteran linebacker Dominic Ciraco had 6.5 tackles, while Caleb Zigby chipped in with 5.5. Second-year defensive back Keon Fuoco registered 3.5 tackles and two interceptions in the loss.
 
Fifth-year quarterback Clay Sequeira went 10-for-22 for 162 yards. Nolan Lovegrove made four receptions for 64 yards, while Adam Williams rushed 12 times for 60 yards.

 
UP NEXT: The Blues will look to improve their playoff seeding as they head to York for their regular season finale next Saturday, October 30 at 1 p.m.
