The University of Toronto Varsity Blues mountain biking team kicked off the University Cup race series at the Albion Hills Conservation Area on Sunday, September 15.
 
"We got muddy and wet," said head coach David Wright. "We had a great turn out and the athletes seemed to love the added challenges that mother nature had to throw at them. Both bikes and cyclists were often pasted with thick mud."
 
Eric Deare placed seventh in the very competitive men's A division.  John Hinton just missed the podium and took the fourth spot in the men's B division, as did Veronica McKelesy in the women's B division.
