Fourth-year winger Khadi Dako scored two tries but the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's rugby team fell 59-12 to the York Lions in their 2019 season opener on Saturday afternoon (Aug. 31) at Varsity Stadium.
 
TORONTO STATS: Dako got the Blues on the board just before the half and Monika Hirsch successfully converted as the visitors were up 31-7 at the midway point of the game. Dhako added her second of the game midway through the second half.
 
YORK STATS: Natasha Naismith led the Lions with one try and six converts, while Lauryn Legerton had two tries on the day.
 
UP NEXT: The Blues travel to Waterloo, Ont., to take on the Laurier Golden Hawks next Sunday, September 8 at 1 p.m.
