The University of Toronto men's basketball program is pleased to announce that Anthony Daudu, Marshall Reed and Lukas Humle have accepted their offers of admission and committed to the Varsity Blues beginning in the 2019-20 season.
Anthony Daudu
Anthony Daudu is a 6-foot-7 forward that joins the Blues from Ridley College in St. Catharines, Ont. There, the Mississauga, Ont., native was named the team's rookie of the year and also earned the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association (OSBA) all-academic award.
"Anthony will have an immediate impact on our program," said Varsity Blues head coach John Campbell. "He is a tremendous defender and rebounder who has the ability to play multiple positions. His experience in the OSBA prepared him well for university basketball."
Daudu will begin his studies in Rotman commerce this fall.
Marshall Reed
A 6-foot-4 guard from Centreville, Virginia, Reed joins the Blues from the Westfield High School Bulldogs. There, he has twice been named to the all-district team, while also being selected for the Nova Challenge and Buffalo Wild Wings all-star game in 2019.
"Marshall is a versatile guard who has a high basketball IQ," said Campbell. "He will provide physicality and rebounding to go along with strong perimeter play. We look forward to his contributions to the program over his career."
Reed will study economics within U of T's New College beginning in September.
Lukas Humle
Lukas Humle is a 6-foot-7 small forward from Calgary. As a member of the Western Canada High School RedHawks, Humle won the coaches and leadership awards and captained two volleyball and one basketball team to city championship titles.
"Lukas is a great athlete who can really shoot the ball," added Campbell. "We are looking forward to having him provide size, athleticism and scoring to our front court."
Humle will join Daudu in the Rotman commerce program in September.
"I chose U of T because I felt it has a balance between a basketball program with a lot of promise for the future and a great business school at Rotman," said Humle. "I come from a downtown high school and would love the downtown feel the school has to offer. I believe that both my athletic and academic aspirations can be filled at the same time."
