As announced by the OUA on Friday (Feb. 27) morning, University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball forward Simeon Jeffers has been honoured as an OUA all-star, while guard Mikey Ballout was named to the OUA all-rookie team.
This marks the first OUA all-star honours for Jeffers, who was named a member of the third team. A third-year kinesiology major from Burlington, Jeffers has stepped into a leadership role with the Varsity Blues both on-and-off the court this season. With an ability to slash to the basket or shoot from outside, the dynamic forward led the team in scoring, averaging 15.8 points per game. A workhorse for the Blues, he recorded the second most minutes of any player across the OUA this season, while also ranking in the Top 10 in the province in total points. He registered a new single game career-high with 35 points at Laurentian in late November, and finished the regular season reaching double-digits in all but five of 22 games played.
A return to the OUA all-rookie team for the Varsity Blues after a two year hiatus, Ballout jumped into the starting lineup for the U of T in his debut season. Starting in 19-of-21 regular season games played, he finished third in team scoring with 12.1 points per game. His outside shooting made him a threat in every contest, eventually finishing with the fifth most three-point field goals across the OUA, while shooting over 35 percent from behind the arc. Ballout delivered a season-high 32 points in a home-court victory over McMaster in early November, while making three or more three-pointers in 12 contests during the 2025-26 campaign.
