BLUES HOST RAVENS IN UNDER ARMOUR GAME OF THE WEEK

Fresh off six-point weekends in Sudbury and North Bay, the University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's and women's soccer teams each host the Carleton Ravens in our Under Armour Games of the Week this Sunday, October 13 at Varsity Stadium.

The women kick off the action at 1 p.m., with the men to follow at 3:15 p.m. The matches are free and open to the public and will also be streamed live on OUA.tv.

The men's match will feature a Top 10 battle as the No. 9 Blues look to hand the undefeated and No. 3 nationally-ranked Ravens their first loss of the season.

U of T is 8-1-2, with their only loss coming at the hands of the No. 6 Ryerson Rams two weeks ago. Toronto is coming off two road victories as they topped the Laurentian Voyageurs 3-1 and Nipissing Lakers 2-0 on the road this past weekend.

The Blues offence has been by committee thus far in 2019. Veterans Koosha Nazemi and Nikola Stakic have each tallied four goals, while rookie Jacob Doroszkiewicz, third-year midfielder Nicholas Osorio, and fifth-year Guelph Gryphons transfer Atchu Sivananathan have three goals apiece so far this season.

Stefan Dusciuc and Sebastian Sgarbossa have split duties in net, ranking third and fourth in the OUA with .846 and .833 save percentages, respectively.

The Blues women will be looking to extend their undefeated streak past four games as they take on the Ravens in the first of two meetings over the next two weeks.

U of T is 5-2-3 and tied for third place in the OUA East division. The Blues secured two clean sheet victories this past weekend, topping Laurentian 2-0 and Nipissing 4-0 on their northern road trip.

The dynamic duo of Miranda Badovinac and Jenny Wolever had led U of T offensively this season. Badovinac has notched seven goals in 10 games, while Wolever has chipped in six, ranking them both among the Top 10 scorers in the league.

Fourth-year goalkeeper Levanta Staggolis has backstopped the Blues for the majority of this season, currently ranking fourth in the OUA with a .884 save percentage.
