FIELD HOCKEY FALLS TO LIONS, TIES MUSTANGS IN KINGSTON

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues field hockey team went 0-1-1 on Week 2 of the OUA regular season on Saturday, September 23 in Kingston, Ont.
 
The Blues dropped a 3-0 decision to the upstart York Lions in their first game of the day, before tying the Western Mustangs, 1-1, on Saturday evening.

York scored three goals off corner opportunities, two in the first half and one in the second half, to secure the 3-0 victory in Game 1. 
 
Rookie forward Anna Costanzo opened the scoring in the 54th minute versus Western, notching her third goal of the season, but the Mustangs evened the score as Katie Newtown scored off a corner in the 62nd minute. 
 
The Varsity Blues return to action next Saturday, September 30 as they host the Queen's Gaels at Back Campus at 2 p.m.
