Varsity Stadium will play host to two big games this Saturday, September 23 as the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer team challenges the visiting Carleton Ravens in a crucial mid-season matchup before the No. 3 Varsity Blues men's soccer team faces off with in-town rival No. 7 Ryerson Rams in a battle of the undefeated.
 
The women kick off at 1 p.m., followed by the men at 3:15 p.m. Both matches are FREE and open to the public with all the action being streamed live on OUA.tv.
 
The Blues men's soccer team currently sits 1-2 with Ryerson in the OUA East division, with Toronto holding an unblemished 6-0-2 record just behind the division-leading Rams at 7-0-1.
 
It will be a clash of styles with Ryerson ranking second in the OUA in total goals (26), while the stout defensive Blues rank second in the province in goals allowed (5). U of T veteran co-captains Devon Bowyer and Lukas Macnaughton will lead the charge in stifling a Rams attack spearheaded by Abdallah El-Chanti and Marko Miketic.
 
Meanwhile, for the women it will be a critical showdown between two teams fighting for playoff positioning. The Varsity Blues currently fifth in the OUA East division with a 4-4 record, ahead of the seventh-place Ravens who are close behind at 3-4.
 
After a strong offensive start to the season, U of T has been slowed down in recent weeks, but the return of third-year striker Natasha Klasios has reinstituted an offensive pressure that has allowed the OUA all-star to record four goals in just four game played, placing her in a tie for fourth in the OUA in goals scored.
 
Her counterpart for the Ravens will be Tori MacFarlane who also sits at four goals on the season, including a two-goal effort in Carleton's recent 7-0 victory over RMC.
