LATE ACTION RESULTS IN 1-1 DRAW

Box Score The No. 8 nationally ranked University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's soccer team tied the Carleton Ravens 1-1 on Friday afternoon (Sept. 1) at MNP Park in Ottawa.

With the draw, the Blues and Ravens are now 2-0-1 on the season and tied atop the OUA East division standings.

Third-year Varsity Blues striker Jack Wadden opened the scoring late in the match when he headed in a long free kick from defender Kenny Lioutas in the 84th minute.

The lead wouldn't last long though as Carleton was awarded their second penalty kick of the match. Veteran goalkeeper Mark Rogal stopped the first penalty kick in the 20th minute, but Dario Conte netted the equalizer in the 86th minute for the Ravens.

Rogal ended the match with five saves.

The Varsity Blues are back in action on Sunday, September 3 when they travel to Oshawa, Ont., to take on the UOIT Ridgebacks. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
