The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's water polo team earned their spot in the OUA championship final, defeating the Western Mustangs in convincing fashion 17-2 on Saturday evening (Nov. 25) in Ottawa.
The Blue and White conceded the first goal of the semifinal match, however, Toronto would go on to score the next 11 taking an 11-1 lead into the halftime break.
U of T's offence continued to roll in the second half adding six more goals, while defensively allowing just one more to the Mustangs.
With the win the Varsity Blues will match up with rival Carleton Ravens for the seventh consecutive OUA final contested between the two teams. Toronto and Carleton have split the previous six matchups, winning three OUA banners apiece. The gold medal match is scheduled for 2 p.m.
