The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's soccer team fell 1-0 (3-2 penalty kicks) to the Ryerson Rams in OUA quarter-final action on Sunday evening (Oct. 29) at Varsity Stadium.
The two teams battled through an exciting 120 minutes of scoreless action before the Rams gained the upperhand in best-of-five penalty kicks.
"I thought we played a phenomenal game in terms of what we wanted to execute," said Varsity Blues head coach Anthony Capotosto. "The work rate was there, the competitive level was there, the desire to win was there. We can't ask them to do anything more than that. They left it all on the field. When it comes to a shootout it's a coin flip and that's basically what it comes down to."
