Recording their third consecutive four goal game, the University of Toronto Varsity Blues field hockey team shut out the visiting McGill Martlets 4-0 at Back Campus on Sunday morning (Oct. 15).
Taylor Fleck opened the scoring for the Blues in the fourth minute of play. Fleck has now recorded a goal in all three wins for U of T in their current three-game winning streak.
Toronto would add two more before the halftime break with fifth-year veteran Megan Johansen and fourth-year forward Morgan Sleeth adding to the Blues lead.
After the half, second-year midfielder Emily Ziraldo recorded the Blues final goal at the 57th minute mark.
Third-year goalkeeper Sara Fredo recorded her second shutout in as many days.
The Blue and White will look to continue their winning ways as they end the regular season next weekend (Oct. 22) with a doubleheader of action against the Guelph Gryphons and Western Mustangs.Â
