BLUES END SEASON WITH SECOND STRAIGHT SHUTOUT OF WARRIORS

Recording their second consecutive shutout of Waterloo in their final game of the 2017 season, the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's rugby team defeated the visiting Warriors 43-0 on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 14) at Varsity Stadium.

The Blue and White dominated possession throughout the consolation playoff matchup, maintaining a constant offensive pressure on their opponents.

In the opening half, Toronto saw a trio of tries scored by Christina Angelakis, Khadi Dako, and Jordyn Orlando. The strong first frame allowed U of T to enter the halftime break with a comfortable 19-0 lead.

After halftime, the offence continued for the Varsity Blues with their opponents visibly tired from the grueling matchup. Robyn Feraday, Julia Cicconi, and Jenny Lin all added to the lead with tries, while Dako scored her second of the match utilizing her blistering speed to outpace the Warriors back line.

Lin kicked four converts in the strong season finale victory for the Blues.
