BLUES DROP CLOSE DECISION IN THUNDER BAY

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's basketball team fell 74-69 to the Lakehead Thunderwovles on Saturday, February 20 at the Thunderdome in Thunder Bay, Ont.

With the loss, the Blues drop to 6-11, but have clinched a post-season berth, sitting third in the OUA East division.

Third-year guard Rahshida Atkinson topped Toronto with 19 points and three assists, while veteran forward Alanna Garner had 18 points, six rebounds and two steals on the night.

Fellow co-captain Abena Addo notched 15points and a team-high nine boards, while rookie Charlotte Collyer had six points and eight rebounds in the loss.

Lakehead was led by Bridget O'Reilly's game-high 20 points. Katelyn Andrea added a double-double of 12 points and 10 boards in the win.

The Varsity Blues return to action next Friday, February 26 when they travel to take on the York Lions. Tip off is set for 6 p.m.
